Graduation times

Time is really going by like crazy. I can still remember the times when I used to live at home with my parents and my siblings in my hometown, but now I’m sitting here in Stockholm daily studying more hours than I can count on my own two hands. That I’m getting older myself is strange because sometimes I still feel like 13, but what really freaks me out is when people around me are getting older. That’s when you really realize that the years are just passing by. The freaking out of the day is that my younger brother is graduating High School or “Tar studenten” as we say in Swedish, roughly translated into “taking the student.” I feel like I just graduated and now it’s his turn, but that means that he’s 19 years old already? For me he’s just 10 years old and I just graduated, but hey, that’s time for you isn’t it…

So my summer is probably gonna consist of some working, but I’m taking a few days of to go and see my brother’s graduation. Looking forward to seeing the whole family gathered once again, it’s not every time that happens after everyone grows up and moves away from home.

I remember the day I graduated, eating strawberrys and drinking champagne at 7 in the morning, then riding around in the student-trucks (weird Swedish traditions) and the feeling of having really achieved something. That’s enough nostalgia for today I think. I do need some help though, I’m really in the need of starting to read some fictional literature, because the school books are driving me a bit crazy. So if you’re sitting on a good one, please share.

Until next time, stay safe and enjoy the spring!
