What’s MCXL? (eng)
Marketing Communication Extra Large is a special program offered at Stockholm School of Economics aiming to foster the best marketers and communicators of tomorrow. MCXL was founded in 2002 by Professor Micael Dahlén, who had a vision to turn a few, hand-picked Master of Science students into highly skilled marketers.
MCXL creates marketers with the ability to master communication as seen both from a business and a consumer perspective. The program, spanning over one semester, is designed to bridge the gap between academic research and commercial execution. The students learn how to incorporate both parts in creative marketing strategies, while focusing on the ultimate objective of all marketing communication; profitability.
At MCXL we use the latest research findings in order to solve real-life communication problems. We combine theories from the academic world with our partner companies’ and our own experiences, and together we find new and efficient ways to convey our messages. Our solutions are always comprehensive in both strategy and implementation, and they never lack in creativity.
Four cornerstones
MCXL has four cornerstones; lectures, seminars, workshops and an internship at one of our partner companies. Our partner companies; who also participate in workshops with the students, help us understand how marketing communication works in the real world, and their support and feedback is essential for our success.
During our lectures and seminars we absorb the latest research and models and apply them on real life cases. In the numerous workshops, companies and bureaus work with MCXL students to solve and discuss actual cases and challenges they have encountered. Each student will complete a one-month internship mid-term at one of our eminent partner companies.
