Interview

elev

We recently started a course called “entrepreneurship”. Me and my friend Anna decided to meet up with the passionated entrepreneur Pauline Grindvall, the founder of My Perfect Day, to do an interview about her being an entrepreneur.

How did you come up with the idea about My Perfect Day?

Well, I recognized some issues when planning my own wedding. I did not find any online shop selling decorations for events and weddings so I decided to create one my own, since the market seemed to really need something like that.

How old were you when you called yourself an entrepreneur for the first time?

Hmm, I would not call myself an entrepreneur, I usually just say that I am running a company. I started my first own company when I was 20 years old, thats is 8 years ago. I have been a partner in a marketing company and also done some free lancing and lectures. And not to forget, I wrote 2 books about how to run a company. 2 years ago I decided to go all in with The Perfect Day, thats what I live of.

What wold you like to tell young people who dream of starting their own company but don´t have the courage to do so?

Don´t think to much, just do it! Once you are in it you will know what will work and what won´t. Don´t be afraid to try new things and ask for help from people with great experience. Be smart but not a coward.

What would you consider is the biggest prejudice when it comes to entrepreneurship?

Probably that just because someone is an entrepreneur automatically means he or she is successful. That is not true. I believe being an entrepreneur is to be passionate, creative and brave, to sometimes just throw yourself to the wolfs without knowing if it will work out or not. All of us have experienced tribulations and hard times, but you learn from it an in the long run it will help you be successful.
