Apart from giving us energy breakfast is also a good source of nutrients such as calcium, iron and Vitamins B as well as protein and fiber. Research shows that these are essential to the body and if they are missed during breakfast they are less likely to be compensated for during the day.

Breakfast is also linked to many health benefits such as weight control. They are also more likely to be within their ideal weight range when compared with those people who skip breakfast. Many people who skip breakfast can very often resort to food that is high in fat and sugar.

Eating breakfast is important for everyone however, it is even more important for children and adolescents. According to the American Dietetic Association, children who eat breakfast perform better in classroom and are more active in sports activities, are able to concentrate better, have better problem- solving skills and better eye-hand coordination.

Apart from the mentioned benefits there are plenty of good reasons to eat breakfast in the morning.
