What comes to mind when you think about Sweden? If I had to answer this question the first three words that come to mind are: Ikea, Abba and Volvo! Well, joking aside, Sweden has much more to offer. The largest of the Scandinavian countries, with an area twice that of Britian, Sweden offers something for everyone. There are 9.7 million people in Sweden, of whom about 2 million are under the age of 18. Eighty- five percent of them live in the cities. It has a spectacular landscape, incredible cities, a friendly and educated population, breathtaking countryside and a rich history and culture. In Northern Sweden you can find the rural landscape and beautiful green forests while in the south you can witness all those little red small houses scattered all over. The country’s south and west coast features some of the most picturesque beaches in Europe. Generally speaking Sweden […]

The days are becoming longer and hotter which means that there is more time to be outside doing a number of different activities. Staying out in the sun might give you a nice glowing tan, but it is definitely not worth the long term skin damage that it can cause. While it may be beneficial for the mind to soak up some sun after a long dark winter if you are going to be out in the sun, you need to stay safe. Some people get a sun tan easily while others get sunburnt. People who are blonde or red hair, have light- coloured skin and light coloured eyes tend to get sunburnt easier than those with dark eyes and skin. The reason for this is because they have less melanin which is a chemical in the skin that protects it from sun damage by reflecting and absorbing UV rays. […]

Travelling solo

Travel is full of important decision and a successful trip requires a lot of planning. The first decision one has to make before deciding to travel is deciding which country to visit, how much to spend and when it is best to go. I have been travelling for a couple of months now and from these experiences I have learnt a lot. It is the first time that I have been away from home and I had to learn to be more independent. It was very overwhelming and pretty nerve wrecking in the beginning but I ended up adapting so quickly to it as I had no other choice. A lot of people were quite surprised when I announced that I wanted to travel alone as I have always been a bit shy and relied a lot on others. Well, it was time for me to prove everyone wrong and […]

I have a passion for documenting my life with stores that accompany them. I love the fact that pictures capture the sweetest moments and sometimes bitter ones too. Well, but that’s life. Pictures can manifest emotions that words cannot. Photographs allow me to express emotions that I might not be able to express verbally. I held my first camera when I was around 7 years old and since then I have never let go. It was a gift from mum and I remember how happy I was when I got it. Like the majority of mums, she was snapping everything (and still does) and recording every small achievement as well as every embarrassing moment of me and my siblings. In the beginning I have to admit that my shots were not that great but as I grew older and read more about it. That was when I started to apply […]

Want a healthier skin?

Every girl dreams about having the glowing and flawless skin that she sees in the movies and advertisements. How to have this beautiful skin? How to make it radiant? These are questions that a lot of women ask their skin specialist and dermatologist. Clear glowing skin is every woman’s dream. No one likes having pimples, dark circles, baggy eyes, zits and dark spots. The majority of people think of the skin as just the body’s outer layer, but doctors consider the skin as an important organ which means that is very much alive and had important duties. Just like any other organ the skin can be healthy or ill. It can be exercised and can wear down with age. There are different skin types and different problems associated with each skin type. Dry skin can get itchy and needs to be constantly hydrated to keep it glowing. On the other […]

Sociology of sports, also referred as sports sociology, is the study of the relationship between sports and society. This branch in Sociology examines how culture, values and human interaction influence sports and vice versa. It also goes into the relationship between sports and media, politics, economics, religion, social inequality and social mobility. The first thing that sociologists tried to answer is why is sports important to society. Sports is deeply embedded in culture and institutions. Educational institutions and sports are intertwined. Achievements in sports disciplines are considered to be as very important and gain a lot of recognition. Sports programs are given a lot of importance by people in governmental institutions. Media too spends a lot of resources on sports. A lot of newspapers dedicate a number of pages to sport and a lot of television programs are dedicated to sports. Business spends a great deal of money of sports […]

The job market today is very competitive and in order to get noted you have to make your resume stand out from the rest. To be remarkable your resume should be somewhat different from everyone else. If you aspire to be remarkable you have to be creative and your resume must be useful and in the end it should help you get the job. Unlike the cover letter, which receives a lot of attention, your resume will probably get less than a minute of the hiring manager’s time. First impressions are very important and your resume should leave a great first impression on the person hiring. In those few seconds of reviewing your resume they are very likely to develop a crucial first impression of you as a person and most importantly as an employee. Having said that, a minute is not a lot of time to make a lasting, […]

Social media marketing can be described as the process of gaining website traffic or attention through social media sites. In order to be successful on the internet today, you have to find a way to create content that ignites and engages an audience. Understanding the power of content and social media marketing can help you increase your audience and broaden your customers in a dramatic way. Social Media came out of nowhere and for this reason it has developed a reputation by some for being an unprofitable marketing tool. Research, on the other hand, gives us a different picture. 92% of marketers in 2014 argued how social media marketing was a valuable tool for their business, with 80% showing how it helped them increase traffic to their website. This research demonstrates that there is a lot of potential for social media marketing to increase customers and eventually upsurge sales. It […]

Amazing Budapest

I fell head over heels in love with Budapest the very first time I visited. I love it for all the right reasons- architecture, museums, romance, food, Turkish baths and it is surprisingly cheap. Budapest is often described as the Little Paris of Eastern Europe. Budapest is not only famous for the monuments reflecting its rich history, but also for the ruins who settled there. Remains of both the Romans and Turks can still be seen in the city. Budapest is divided into two sides, Buda and Pest, which represent two different characters of the city. Buda, on the west side of the river is hilly and semi-suburban and offers medieval streets and houses, museums, caves as well as roman ruins. It is far greener, residential and harder to navigate by public transportation. When in Buda I always get the same feel of Montmartre. It is very nice to visit, […]
